MAYDE began as an idea some years ago and was finally put into action in 2012. The concept was simple - what is something everyone needs/uses and what can we do to make it more unique and accessible?  That's where our Turkish towels (better known as peshtemals) came into play.
In May 2013, Sylvia Hill, owner of MAYDE, visited Istanbul and met with her suppliers. As experiences go, it was a visual and sensory amplification. It was also a relief to find that the suppliers use only the best local cotton, and treat every process of the towel making with respect.
With most towels being hand loomed, you can expect the odd imperfection here and there - but we think that's what makes these towels so great - they're all a little one of kind.
